This Privacy Policy covers meetoncampus.com and the Campus Connect waitlist site only — the page you're on right now, where you can join the waitlist for early access. It does not cover the Campus Connect mobile app, which has not launched yet. Once the app launches, it will come with its own Privacy Policy covering things this page doesn't need to, like location data, in-app messaging, and profile information. Until then, this page is the only Privacy Policy that applies to anything we operate.
Campus Connect is a student-run project currently based in Toronto, Ontario, and is in the process of incorporating. Until incorporation is complete, "Campus Connect," "we," "us," and "our" in this policy refer to the individuals operating the waitlist on Campus Connect's behalf. If we incorporate, this policy will be updated to name the legal entity, and your rights under it won't be reduced by that change.
Joining the waitlist collects the following information, all of which you type into the form yourself:

We don't ask for your name, phone number, date of birth, payment details, or any device/location data through this form. We don't use cookies, tracking pixels, analytics scripts, or third-party ad tech on this site.
Like almost any website, our hosting provider (Netlify) automatically logs basic technical information for every visit — such as IP address, browser type, and request timestamps — for security and operational purposes. We don't access or use these logs for marketing, and they're covered by Netlify's own privacy practices (see Third-party services below).
Everything we collect comes directly from you, when you fill out and submit the waitlist form. We don't buy data about you, and we don't combine what you give us with data from data brokers or other third parties.
We do not sell your personal information, rent it to advertisers, or use it to build advertising profiles. We do not use your data for any purpose beyond running the waitlist and preparing for launch.
We keep the number of outside services touching this page to a minimum. Currently:
We do not use Google Analytics, Meta/Facebook Pixel, advertising cookies, session-replay tools, or any other tracking or analytics service on this site as of the date above. If that changes, we'll update this section and the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
We keep waitlist information (email, school, referral codes) for as long as your entry remains active on the waitlist, and we don't have an automatic deletion schedule at this stage — the list is small and we review it manually. If you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your information, we'll remove it from our active waitlist and stop using it, as described in Your rights and choices below. Standard hosting logs kept by Netlify are subject to Netlify's own retention practices, not ours.

To exercise any of these, email meetoncampus@gmail.com. We'll respond and act on your request within a reasonable time, generally within 30 days.
If you're a resident of the European Economic Area, UK, or California, you may have additional statutory rights (such as data portability, or the right to know categories of information collected under California law) — the process to exercise them is the same: email us at the address above. We do not sell personal information as that term is defined under California law, so there's no "opt out of sale" action needed.
Campus Connect is intended for university and college students, and the waitlist is not directed at children. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted information to us, email meetoncampus@gmail.com and we'll delete it.
We rely on our hosting provider's infrastructure-level security (encrypted connections, access controls) to protect data in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security, but we don't collect more than we need in order to limit what's at risk in the first place.
Campus Connect is currently focused on launching in Canada, and this site is operated from Canada. We don't restrict access to visitors from other countries, so if you're visiting from outside Canada, your information may be transferred to and processed in Canada (and, via our hosting provider, potentially the United States or other countries where Netlify operates infrastructure). By using this site, you understand your information may be processed outside your home country.
We may update this policy as the waitlist site or our practices change. If we make a material change, we'll update the "Last updated" date above, and for significant changes, we'll try to notify waitlist members by email. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
